The Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark today attended the celebration of Christiansfeld's 250th city anniversary. Upon arrival at the celebration, the Crown Couple was received by the Kolding mayor.
Christiansfeld was founded by the Congregation of the Brethren in 1773 with permission from King Christian VII. The community was organized as a Lutheran-evangelical free congregation.
The city visit began with a celebratory service in the Church of the Brethren. After the celebratory service, the tour of Christiansfeld first went to the heart of the city – Kirkepladsen, which is shaped like a cross with the well in the middle.
